Vermont Interstate Highways

Vermont's Interstate Highways connect its major cities and facilitate travel between Vermont and its neighbors.  I-89 extends from the Quebec border in the north, through Burlington and Montpelier, leaving Vermont at the New Hampshire border, near White River Junction.  I-91 runs from north to south through eastern Vermont.  I-189 connects I-89 with the southern part of Burlington.

Vermont Scenic Routes

Route 100 from Wilmington to Newport is a charming 200-mile drive through the Green Mountains, pastoral farms, and quaint New England villages.  Jamaica State Park offers swimming, white water rafting, canoeing, and hiking, while the scenic mountain loop passes by the alpine resort of Stratton Mountain and features a gondola ride with aerial views of four states.  The Plymouth Notch Historic District celebrates the life of Calvin Coolidge, and the Cabot Farmers Cooperative Creamery offers an up-close look at Vermont's cheesemaking tradition.  More information about scenic roads in Vermont is available on this Vermont Byways site.
